HMD’s asphalt carrier was designated as the company’s fourth “World Class Product” by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy on January 19.

The carrier can carry asphalt, coal tar, coal tar pitch, heavy oil, and diesel oil in two separate cargo tank. To keep high temperature at 230°C, the carrier is equipped with a boiler and legging material.

HMD entered the asphalt carrier market in 2001, and has since delivered nine such ships.
