Hyundai E&T Launched

Hyundai E&T was launched as a specialty group drawing experts from Mipo Engineering this year. The new company will support drawing and inspection tasks at Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. With a plan for increasing drawing manpower to 1,600 and inspection manpower to 400, the new building will be built in 2015 at Ulsan Techno Industry Complex, Duwang-dong.

The Most Planned by HMD

HMD set its yearly delivery target at 96 ships ( 10 from Hyundai Vinashin in Vietnam) this year at a meeting on January 19. Product / Chemical Tankers will account for 63 ships. Work on LPG carriers and reefer containerships will commence in September and December. Mr. Choi Won-gil, president & CEO of HMD said HMD will continue being the No.1 shipbuilder for medium-sized ship this year.

Asphalt Carrier Designated as “World Class Product

HMD’s asphalt carrier was designated as the company’s fourth “World Class Product” by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy on January 19. The carrier can carry asphalt, coal tar, coal tar pitch, heavy oil, and diesel oil in two separate cargo tank. Three Ships Delivered and One Ship Named

Bahri Jeddah, Cielo Di Gaeta, and High Freedom Delivered & NS Elida Named Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) delivered 26,000 DWT Con-Ro carrier Bahri Jeddah ordered by National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) on January 9. Three Ships Named

HMD held a naming ceremony for Burgan, a 46,500 DWT product carrier ordered by KOTC on December 4. The ship measuring 186.0 m in length, 32.2 m in width, and 18.5m in depth is first of four ships and is scheduled to be delivered in January 2014.
