HMD has signed a contract for two Medium Range (MR) tankers with Geden Lines of Turkey on August 12, 2003. With this deal, HMD has so far received orders for 12 vessels of the same class & type from Geden Lines.

The first of the two tankers is scheduled for delivery in November 2004, and the second for January 2005. Meanwhile, the ninth unit (H0145) of ten MR tankers ordered by Geden Lines, was delivered on July 31, 2003.

HMD has so far received 57 ships in newbuilding contracts this year and currently has an order backlog in excess of 100 vessels.
