CF Ahrenkiel has recently declared an option for two(2) 2,800TEU boxships at HMD. In may 2003, CF Ahrenkiel ordered two(2) firm boxships plus two(2) options. The first option is scheduled for delivery in July 2006 and the second is in September 2006.

HMD has also signed a newbuilding contract with Vroon B.V. for four(4) medium-range(MR) product/chemical tankers. Delivery of the 4 ships will be made between the second quarter of 2005 and the first quarter of 2006.

HMD has so far received over $1.4bn in newbuilding contracts this year and now has an order backlog in excess of 90 vessels, more than 80 of which are MR type tankers.
