HMD held a naming ceremony for a 2,824TEU Container carrier(H0116) ordered by C.F. Ahrenkiel of Germany on September 8.

She was named CARDONIA by Mrs.Choi Soon-ja, wife of HMD President Yu Kwan-hong.

Notably Ahrenkiel granted the sponsoring privilege to HMD in return for their appreciation of the quality construction of the ship.

CARDONIA measures 222m in length, 30m in width, and 16.8m depth and has a service speed of 22.5knots.

Additionally, Ahrenkiel has contributed USD10,000 as a token of their appreciation for the quality ship.

C.F. Ahrenkiel, established in 1970, is one of the prominent shipping companies in Germany having 26 vessels of container and tanker.
