HVS, Enlargement of Loading Block
Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard (HVS) enlarged its PE block to improve productivity.
Originally, the double bottom and L block of the PE block are loaded separately.
Now, with the enlargement to 32 m in width, 17 m in height, and 310 t in weight, the PE block can be loaded at once with the 450 ton Goliat crane.
HVS has succeeded in loading the enlarged blocks on a 50,000 DWT product/chemical tanker (no. S414) on October 27.
HVS expects the enlarged blocks to reduce construction time and increase productivity in the dockyard, and plans to apply it to all types of ships.
