HMD received an award from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy for reaching US$ 900million in exports on Korea’s 40th annual Trade Day.

These result, based on exports between July 1, 2002 and June 30, 2003, show an increase of 49% over the previous year. Especially, 83% of exports are product carriers, take possession of world-wide top by HMD.

HMD’s exports have rapidly grown after entering the newbuilding industry from $300mil in 1999, to $500mil in 2001.

HMD ranks 8th company from the top among the Korean industries by export volume. With over 94% of its total sales coming from exports, HMD further reinforced its contribution to the Korean economy not to speak of Ulsan’s economy.
