Chorong-Hoei, a community service organization at HMD, invited the challenged people of Donghyang-won and held a beach festival.

The organization provided a tour of HMD's shipyard and hosted several recreational activities. Chorong-Hoei opens a beach festival for Donghyang-won every year.

Meanwhile, a Christian community of HMD delivered scholarships totaling 3 million to 10 underprivileged students in the local area on May 28, 2004.
