HMD made a deal with Kvarner Philadelphia Shipyard Inc (KPSI) of USA last December for the sale of a ship design of 46,000dwt product and chemical carrier (PC), which is one of the major ship types being built at HMD.

Key contents of the contract are that HMD provides KPSI with ship design, agency service for material & equipment supply and so on.

This agreement is considered to open up a new profit-making model in Korean shipbuilding industry while marking Korean shipbuilding’s biggest technology export ever.

With the technology export, HMD became to strength its leading position even more in the area of medium-range product and chemical carrier.
