Contract for one 2,824teu containership

HMD signed a contract for one 2,824teu containership with Cido Shipping Co. on Dec. 21 in the presence of Mr. K. S. Choi, CEO of HMD, and Mr. H. Kwon, president of Cido. The containership is scheduled for delivery in May, 2008. It will measure 222.2 m in length, 30m in width and 16.8m in depth.

Cido Shipping operates more than 40 vessels including PC and PCC. HMD has maintained good relationship with Cido over the years, providing the shipping company with ship repair services. HMD has been awarded 9 vessels in total from Cido since September this year. The awarding of this contract is the result of the trust and belief established between the two companies.

Meanwhile, HMD has so far received orders for 30 containerships this year, strengthening its presence in the containership new-building market even more as well as in the PC market.
