Naming Ceremony for a Containership

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) held a naming ceremony for a 2,824-teu containership (Hull No. 0401) at the No.3 quay on Feb. 2 ordered by Tsakos Shipping in January 2004.

Foreign and domestic guests including Mr. K. S. Choi, C.E.O. of HMD, ,Mr. Panagiotis N. Tsakos, chariman of Tsakos Shipping and some persons from Hanjin Shipping celebrated the christening.

The vessel, which is the first among 6 containerships ordered from Tsakos Shipping, was named 'Irenes Remedy' and she measures 222.17m long, 30m wide and 16.8m high.

Meanwhile, Tsakos Group founded at 1970 has ordered total 16 ships to HMD so far and is operating about 60 ships.
