HMD successfully delivered twelve 46,000-dwt class product carriers to BP. A naming ceremony for the last ship was held on December 16 under the attendance of many BP and HMD people. The ship was christened as British Tranquillity. The order for the ships was secured on December 2002 and HMD handed over the first ship, British Tenacity, on April 2004. HMD delivered a total of twelve product carriers in one year and nine months. Due to the continuous productivity improvement activities, HMD was able to deliver each ship about three month earlier than scheduled saving 1,172 days. This remarkable success was a result of the overall production efficiency campaign to overcome unfavorable business conditions such as fluctuating exchange rates.
