HMD took an order for eight product carriers worth $345 million. HMD signed contracts for four 47,000-dwt and four 37,000-dwt product carriers each with Genden Line of Turkey on January 4.

Mr. C. B. Kim, the labor union leader, attended the ceremony to express a special thanks to the owner. At the ceremony, Mr. Kim told the owner, “Thank you for giving us invaluable orders. The labor union will do its best to build the best quality ships and deliver them on time.” HMD currently holds the No.1 position in the world’s product carrier market.
