The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy announced that they selected HMD’s 2,824Teu containership as one of the Korean World-class Products. Last year, the medium-range product carrier was honored with this accolade.

This award is derived from HMD’s market share of 21.4% in the world’s mid-sized containership market last year. The 2,824TEU containership was also selected as the outstanding ship by both Fairplay Publication and The Royal Institution of Naval Architects last year.

The order book of HMD for mid-sized containerships total 83 out of 194. HMD currently ranks as the No.4 shipbuilding yard in the world.
