HMD greeted the New Year with the eight naming ceremonies in January.

On January 10, naming ceremonies were held for two 2,824TEU containerships ordered by Reederei Claus-Peter Offen GMBH & Co. of Germany along with 3,450TEU containership ordered by B.Rickmers of Germany on January 12.

In addition, three 37,000DWT product carriers were named each for GESCO on January 15, Latvian Shipping Company on January 17 and Vroom BV on January 18. On January 22 and 23, ceremonies were held for a 47,000DWT product carrier and 2,824TEU containership for E.R.Schiffahrt GMBH & CO.
