Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) recently received orders for high-value-added ships including PCTC and RO-RO vessels.
HMD received an order for 10,800-dwt RO-RO vessels worth US $670 million (including 4 options) from the Italian Grimaldi Group. This is HMD’s 79th new vessel order in 2007. The 79 vessels, worth a total of US $4.43 billion, include 20 PCTCs and 15 RO-ROs.
Since entering the newbuilding market, HMD has grown to become the world’s top builder of Product Carriers and mid-sized containerships. The company has continued to challenge itself to become more involved in building other high-value-added vessels.
