On September 5th an opening ceremony for the new office of Japanese ship owner ORIX was held at HMD. Many people celebrated the opening of the new site office including parties from ORIX, people from HMD, and representatives of classification societies. Mr. Yokota of ORIX is expected to be the chief supervisor for the site office, which will be operated until June of 2008.

ORIX currently has 4 ships on HMD’s backlog. At the end of 2004, HMD received orders for two 2,800 containerships from ORIX, with orders for another two 47,000-dwt product carriers arriving in 2006.
