The chairman of Tsakos Shipping of Greece, Capt. Panagiotis N. Tsakos, presented the president of HMD, Mr. Song Jae-byoung, a letter of appreciation in recognition of HMD’s high quality ship-building.

In the letter he expressed his appreciation for 20 people, selected from each department, who had participated in the building of their ten vessels.

On August 21st HMD held a naming ceremony for a 37,000-dwt class product tanker, Hull No. 0407, at the 3rd quay. In April 2004 Tsakos Shipping & Trading S.A. of Greece ordered two 37,000-dwt Handymax product tankers. This vessel was the last to be delivered of the ten product tankers that Tsakos Shipping has ordered to date. This PC was named Bosporos, after the channel between Greece and Turkey, by the shipowner. The ceremony was attended by the Executive Vice President of HMD, Mr. Bae Young-hag, and many people representing Tsakos Shipping, including the vice-chairman of Tsakos, Mr. Vasileios Papageorgiou.

The vessel measures 182.5m in length, 27.3m in width, and 16.7m in depth, with a service speed of 14.4 knots. After the naming ceremony the vessel left port for Indonesia for its first shipment.
