The shipbuilding process for LPG Carriers, the next generation ship that HMD has recently made its main product, is proceeding smoothly. HMD held a keel-laying ceremony on April 4 in the No.1 building dock for the first vessel for Zodiac Maritime Limited of the United Kingdom. The vessel, Hull no. 8005, is a 20,600m³-class LPG Carrier.

Two Bi-Lobe-type LPG tanks, made of a special steel that can withstand temperatures of -50°C, were successfully loaded onto the vessel on April 23. The first vessel is expected to be launched in June and delivered in September.

HMD currently has 12 LPG carriers in its backlog, with 20,600m³ and 35,000m³ ship classes.
