Keel-Laying for 75,000-dwt PC Tanker

HMD held a keel-laying ceremony for Hull No. 2070 at its 4 dock on November 18th. Hull No. 2070, a 75,000-dwt Product/Chemical Tanker, is the largest vessel ever built at HMD. Hull No. 2070 will be the first of four identical ships ordered by GEM of the U.A.E. in 2006.

 

The ships will measure 228m in length, 32.25m in width, 20.9m in depth, and be equipped with Hyundai B&W 6S60MC-C engines, providing a service speed of 16.0 knots. This first vessel is scheduled to be launched in January of 2009, with delivery in April of that year
