Three ships delivered by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in 2008 were among the ‘Significant Ships of 2008’, as selected by Naval Architects, a leading technical journal from England. HMD has had at least one ship selected for this honor for eight consecutive years, and has had a total of 16 vessels honored since entering the shipbuilding market in 1996. The three ships selected this year were Navigator Aries, a 20,600m³LPG Carrier ordered by Zodiac of England; CPO France, a 36,000-dwt Product Tanker for German owner CP Offen, and Gulf Baynunah, a 47,000-dwt Methanol Carrier for Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM) of the U.A.E.
