New engines for growth by acquiring additional production site
Hyundai Mipo Dockyard recently bought two plots of land giving a total of 660,490 m2 from Offshore Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries and Yong Yeon Factory, Hwang Sung-Dong, Nam-Gu.
HMD has been dependent on its satellite factories in Jangsengpo, Onsan and Mohwa due to its limited capacity of the main yard, resulting excessive logistic costs and less productivity.
By acquiring those additional production sites adjacent to the main shipyard, now HMD is relieved from long suffering shortage of production site including lack of Quay and became enabled to integrate its facilities of production and expected improved productivity by increasing in size of blocks and reducing logistic costs.
