HMD has secured another newbuilding contract for the construction of two 35,000DWT product/chemical tankers for a first-class Greek client, Thenamaris (Ship Management) INC.
The contract signing ceremony was held at the buyer's head office in Greece on 17th January 2001 and attended by the top management of the both parties. The vessels are the fifth and sixth in a series and follow contracts for four 37,000DWT product/chemical tankers awarded to HMD by Thenamaris.
With an overall length of 176meters, a breadth of 31meters and a draft of 9meters, the ships have a cargo tank volume of 45,300-cbm with 6 segregations. The vessels are equipped with a 11,640-bhp Hyundai B&W main engine with 15.0 knots of service speed. The vessels are scheduled for delivery to the buyer in the 3rd quarter of 2002.
