HMD signed two contracts on July 10 and August 24, 2001 with Interorient Navigation Co., Ltd. to build four 37,000DWT p/chemical tankers and for the option to build two additional vessels.

They will be the 4th-7th vessels in series. The four vessels are scheduled to be delivered to the buyer by the end of 2003. Last year, HMD delivered three vessels of the same type.

In addition, HMD has signed another contract with Geden Line to build two 37,000DWT p/chemical tankers, which will be the 7th and 8th vessels. The two vessels will be delivered in May and August next year respectively.
