A delivery ceremony for a 37,000DWT product carrier(Hull No.0010) ordered by S.A.M. International Andromeda Shipping(Andromeda) was held on November 19, 2001 at No.1 quay with Mr. Stefano Rosmini, President of Andromeda, Mr. Andrea Chervisari, technical manager of Andromeda and HMD’s Chairman, J.I.Lee attebdubg.

The vessel, named “ASHLEY” after the name of a river running through Charleston City, North Carolina in the USA, was designed to have a length of 182 meters, a width of 16.7 meters, and a depth of 27.3 meters with a service speed of 14.5knots/hour.

Out of total 5 product tankers ordered by the Owners with HMD, 2 ships Including M/T “MARNE” of which the delivery was made on September 12, have been delivered so for with 3 vessels remaining for due delivery next year.

As of November 2001, HMD has successfully Named and delivered 13 units of Product/Chemical Tankers, a Pipe Layer, 4 Cable Layers, a Power Plant Barge, a Self-Unloading vessel etc..
