The cable layer, Baron,was delivered to Dockwise shipping B.V. on May 2, 2002.

It was the second unit of two deep-sea cable layers awarded by dockwise in Feb. 2000.

Baron is a 13,340-dwt deep seabed cable-laying vessel with an overall length of 146.5m, a breadth of 21m and a depth of 17.1m.

It is equipped with a state-of-the-art dynamic positioning system that can be operated by automatic satellite navigation equipment.

Meanwhile, the first vessel, Knight, was delivered in August 2001.
