A christening ceremony was held at Quay No. 1 for a 37,000-dwt product/chemical carrier (H0025) on June 18, 2002.

HMD president K. H. Yu, Laliotis Maritime chairman Mr. John Laliotis, and 40 other guests were in attendance.

The vessel was named British Endeavour by Mrs. Jan Houston, wife of the managing director of the royal Bank of Scotland and delivered to its owner, Laliotis Maritime of Greece.

This vessel, the third ship of ten identical product/chemical tankers ordered by Genden Lines of Turkey, was designed to have a length of 182.5m, a width of 27.3m and a depth of 16.7m with a service speed of 14.5 knots.

Laliotis Maritime, established in 1970, is one of the most prominent shipping companies in Greece having a Handymax and Panamax tanker fleet.
