Naming for a 37,000-dwt Tanker

A christening ceremony was held at Quay No. 1 for a 37,000-dwt product/chemical carrier (H0026) on September 10, 2002.

Mr. K. H. Yu, president of HMD, Mr. Vassilios Laliotis, president of Laliotis Maritime Group, Ms. Linda Adamany, CEO of BP Shipping Limited, and 40 other guests were in attendance.

The vessel was named “British Endurance” by Ms. Linda Adamany and delivered to its owner, Laliotis Maritime of Greece.

This vessel, the fourth ship of ten identical product/chemical tankers ordered by Geden Lines of Turkey, was designed to have a length of 182.5m, a width of 27.3m and a depth of 16.7m with a service speed of 14.5 knots.

Laliotis Maritime, established in 1970, is one of the most prominent shipping companies in Greece having a Handymax and Panamax tanker fleet.
