HMD held a naming ceremony for a 40,000dwt Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Bottiglieri di Navigazione SPA(Bottiglieri) of Italy on July 27, 2002.

Mr. Giuseppe Bottiglieri, Bottiglieri President, Mr.K.H.Yu, HMD president, and 60 guests attended the ceremony and celebrated its successful construction.

It was named “Ugo De Carlini” by Ms.Mariolina De Carlini, niece of president Bottiglieri. The vessel was the third unit of four identical product/chemical tankers awarded by Bottiglieri in March 2001 and was designed to have a length of 176m, a width of 31m, and a depth of 17m with a service speed of 15knots.

On August 3, the “Ugo De Carlini” entered upon a maiden voyage from Philippines to Europe.

The last vessel(H0033), launched on June 12, is scheduled to be delivered to the owner in September this year.
